ALL ABOUT KITE EAGLES

The subject of how to distinguish between hawks, kites, eagles, and vultures is frequently posed. They can all be identified by size, as they are all members of the same family of Old World vultures, though it is difficult to determine this from simply seeing one unless you are well-informed.

TYPES OF KITES :

BLACK KITE :  Black kites, or Milvus migrans, are raptors of average size that belong to the Accipitridae family of Old World vultures, which also includes a large number of other nocturnal prey birds. Unlike other members of the group, they are cunning and opportunistic hunters that prioritize scavenging over moral standards. They spend a lot of time hunting prey by soaring and gliding high in the sun. They may easily be identified by their distinctive forked tail and slanting wing. This kite is huge.

INDUS BRAHMINY KITE : This species is indigenous to the following countries: Pakistan, China, Nepal, Australia, Bangladesh, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Lao People's Democratic Republic, Macao, Malaysia, Myanmar, Vietnam, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Singapore, Solomon Islands, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, and Timor-Leste in Southeast Asia. Across freshwater and marine environments, Haliastur Indus, also known as the Brahminy Kites, have a preference. Due of its exceptionally wide distribution, this species does not approach the IUCN range size criterion for Vulnerabl.

What do kites eat? As scavengers, kites favor eating road kill and dead animals. They have been observed consuming softer, smaller creatures including pigeons, voles, mice, and rabbits.
Kite habitat :
The Kite is strongly attracted to open areas with bodies of water, including ponds, rivers, and lakes. It also needs trees to build its nests, although only a small number of trees will do as long as they are in places with plenty of food.
Breeding:
The Kite builds its nests in branches along forest boundaries.
These raptors are exceptionally late for a medium-sized raptor (and more akin to larger raptors, such Eagles), reaching sexual maturity between the ages of 4 and 5. Incubation lasts for 31 to 33 days after they deposit two to four eggs. The young must wait 45 to 50 days after hatching before they are ready to leave the nest, although they are still nourished until then.
Lifespan: In the wild,Kites can live up to 26 years and up to 30 years in captivity.
